Where We Stand
To our Momofuku teams,
I want to start by saying unequivocally that Black Lives Matter. Seeing the senseless murder of Black people has proven, yet again, that there is so much work that needs to be done in our country to acknowledge and undo the evils of systemic racism.
We stand in solidarity with the families of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and the countless others who have been murdered. We have a long way to go and we need to work harder as a company to speak out and stand against both horrendous acts of violence and the daily injustices that the Black community faces.
It’s important that we back our words with actions. To start, we are opening our space at 207 Second Avenue for next week as a donation-based to-go kitchen. Momofuku is covering 100% of costs so every dollar donated goes to Black Lives Matter NY, Equal Justice Initiative, and the NAACP LDF. We are hard at work at figuring out how to do this in the safest and most impactful way. I will share more later this week.
I know that this is a small step in the face of an enormous issue. I’ve taken the past week to listen and learn and put actions and dollars where our words and heart are. It shouldn’t take national unrest for this type of conversation and action to happen, and we will do better in putting in the hard work that progress demands, regardless of current news headlines.
We must keep this conversation going. We are committed to providing more educational resources and training for everyone and having hard conversations with each other. I am here to have those conversations and I welcome any ideas you have on further steps we can take if you’d like to share.
I am committed to using our platform and resources at Momofuku to combat social injustice and fight for equality.

A nuestros equipos de Momofuku,
Quiero empezar diciendo inequívocamente Black Lives Matter.
